It’s especially important for Franklin County residents who might be looking for financial assistance to support these plans. The Warner Fund offers such support but the deadline for applications is April 1st. Rose Newton is the winner of the SACS poster contest. She drew her vision of our SAFE, ACHIEVING, CARING SCHOOL. Rose is a creative, energetic, caring 3rd grader in the Explorers Learning Community. Congratulations Rose!

Players vs. Teachers ~ Please join us on Thursday, February 18th starting
at 5:30 for a great night of entertainment.

Admission $2.00
Pre Show performance by Electric Youth Dance
Enjoy the game watching the teachers attempt to play the 7th grade
basketball teams.
Half time performance by our Raiders Cheerleaders
Try your luck at a half court shot for $1.00 or 6 shots for $5.00 (prizes
will be awarded to anyone that makes it!!)
Then stay for our special overtime game where the coaches take the court
and attempt to play their players

Cash Snack Bar & Bake Sale

Help 4 Haiti- The Travelers and Explorer teams along with the BFA Cheerleaders have joined together to raise money for Haiti disaster relief. During a special presentation in the library the teams gave a check to the red Cross for $1180.22.Way to go Explorers and Travelers!!!!

8th Grade class of 2011: The PAG needs your help!! What is PAG,it stands for parent Advisory Group and what we do is to help you the students plan for you eight grade year. Together we plan everything from your field trips,dances,graduation activities,to your yearbook. We will be meeting monthly and are in the process of planning our first fundraiser which will be taking place on Thursday,February 18th. The event will be the seventh grade basketball teams taking on the teachers and possibly the coaches. We will have special activities and cheerleaders will be performing a halftime show. So, There is a lot of planning to do,ideas are welcome. It is important that every parent gets involved.The next PAG meeting will take place Monday,February 8th at 3:30 in the library.There are lots of ways you can get involved even if you can't attend meetings. Announcements 02-03-10





Valentine's Day Express:
This week forms will be going home for the Valentine's Day Express
scheduled for Fri. Feb. 12th. You can order beads, candy, or flower for
$1.25 each and it will be delivered to your child's classroom. Please be
sure to include the first and last name of the person you are sending it
to and the teacher's name if you know it. Students can also buy during
lunchtime on the 12th while supplies last. The express will benefit the
8th grade class end of the year events.

The YMCA is offering a vacation camp for school age children at the town School during February break. The theme is: Y-Olympics. For more
information, brochures are available in the school office.
