Dear Parents/Guardians of our 8th Graders:
On Friday, May 28th, your 8th grader will be walking to BFA for Freshman Orientation accompanied by a teacher from each Learning Community. This is an annual event to introduce City School students to the reality and excitement of their upcoming first year of high school.

This is always an exciting day for our students. They will receive a mock schedule for ninth grade and get to meet teachers and staff. They will meet fellow ninth graders from other sending schools. Our students will be able to experience high school.

Lunch will be provided by BFA. Students will be dismissed from BFA and there will be no bus transportation provided. Students may be picked up by parents or have permission to walk home. Dismissal from BFA will be 2:00 p.m.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call your student’s homeroom teacher.

Sincerely,

Georgina S. Andrews

Assistant Principal

Tax season is a great time to remind families about the benefits of receiving the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). Families earning up to $48,000 may be eligible to receive EITC. Families that receive this tax credit are automatically eligible for 3SquaresVT, regardless of their income or assets. Although they may receive low or no 3SquaresVT benefits, they will still be eligible for free school meals. This means that there are likely families that are over income for free or reduced price meals and 3SquaresVT that can receive free school meals if they receive EITC.

For more information, please call or refer families to Sarah at (802) 865-0255 or srobinson@vtnohunger.org.
