Announcements 10-29-10


PAG
"Penny Wars" for all 7/8 communities will be held from October 25th through November 5th during lunch times. If you have a 7th or 8th grade student please ask them to bring in spare change for their community. The team that collects the most change will be rewarded with a Pizza Party Lunch.

PAG BAKE SALE
Our 8th grade class will be hosting a Bake Sale at St. Albans City Hall on Tuesday, November 2nd for Election Day. Please stop by and show your support and pick up a tasty treat. We will be set located just inside City Hall and will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm

A Haunting at Barlow- Friday, October 29th 6:00 pm to 10:00pm and Saturday, October 30th 12:00 noon - 5:00pm. $5.00 for adult admission and $3.oo for children at the Barlow street school, 39 Barlow st. For more information contact kviens@stalbansvt.com or call 524-1500 ext. 266.

Halloween Express is here!!!-Friday, October 29th. Send some Halloween fun! We have Necklaces and candy for $ 1.25 each. You can return a slip to the k-8 office or purchase during lunch .( While supplies last )

For those of you interested in information about the proposed facility project, an article was published today. Tuesday’s St. Albans Messenger included a story about City School’s upcoming proposed project and bond vote on November 2nd. The project is designed to address health and safety issues at the school relating to ventilation, electrical, and roofing issues. We hope you’ll join members of the School Board on Wednesday, October 27th for an informational meeting about the project at 7 p.m. in the library.

Would you like your child to participate in Odyssey of the Mind this year at
St. Albans City School?
We have two parent coaching teams, and are looking for students and parents interested in joining. If you are interested in having your child participate at the k-2, 3-5 or 6-8 level, please contact the program coordinator, Shannon Lenox slenox@uvm.edu or 524-9810 by October 15th to join.

Team USA to Host St. Albans City Representative Debate
Team USA will be hosting the candidates for the St. Albans City Representative seats. All four candidates (Kathleen Keenan, Dustin Degree, Newell Decker, and Jeff Young) have agreed to the debate.
The debate will be held at the St. Albans City School cafeteria on October 14th, 2010, 6:30pm-8:00.
Team USA students will moderate.
This event is open to the public.

Team USA, is having a book drive.

This book collection is to
benefit and increase the classroom libraries
at City School. Bring any book in and it
will be sorted by grade level and brought
to the appropriate team. There will be places
to drop the books off at your child’s
community. Please donate any books, if you can.
The book drive will be starting October
11th and will continue throughout the school year.

Fresh Vermont Made Holiday Wreaths to benefit our 2011 eighth grade class

Order your beautiful 25" traditional decorated Holiday Wreath today.

Picture and order sheets can be found in the teacher's lounge or in the front lobby. All eighth graders are also taking orders.

Wreaths are being sold for $20.00 each. Checks may be made out to SACS.

All paid orders must be received by October 18th.

Your orders will be delivered by Thanksgiving.
