Today's Drill

Dear St. Albans City School Community,

We would like to congratulate our students and staff on today’s safety drill. The city fire department and police department were here for this monthly safety drill, and in our debriefing following the drill commented on how well the drill went.

At about 1:30 we did a lockdown drill. It lasted about 12 minutes. This was a surprise drill, with only a handful of people who knew it would happen. About 5 minutes into the drill we pulled the fire alarm. Students and staff did a wonderful job. Students remained in classrooms and were quiet as expected. A Lockdown is the only drill that overrides the fire alarm.

Thank you to our students and staff – we are proud of your performance during the drill.
