News from Team USA

Team USA hosted local senior citizens for the 25th annual Thanksgiving meal.  The Abbey Group was gracious enough to sponsor the meal.  Frank Mehaffey and the City School band performed a concert for our early visitors. Team USA members organized, welcomed and served our guests. A special dedication was made for Jo-An Baillargeon, the SACS food service coordinator that passed away in 2011.  SACS students created a mural that was hung near the cafeteria.  The kids did an amazing job with the event!

How to Cook a Turkey

by Students in Mrs Williams Class:

"Nana and Papa come to our house. We all go to Subway to pick out our turkey. Subway cleans it with windex and water."

"We eat turkey, ham, noodles, peas, popcorn, and gumballs. Everyone gets sour cream. It takes good with tacos."

"Mom cooks, she's better at cooking than Dad. Mom uses wipers to clean the turkey then she wraps it in a towel."

Happy Thanksgiving!  Thank you to all of the parents and families who joined us for our Harvest Dinner.

Veterans Day Celebration

On behalf of Team USA, I would like to thank all of the staff along with the students for being flexible and taking time out of their week to honor our dedicated Veterans. From the Veterans that I had the opportunity of speaking with, I got nothing but positive thoughts and positive remarks about our school. St. Albans City School is now known to be a successful group of kids who are leaders, not followers, caring, not selfish, and dedicated , not ones who sit back and watch life float by. We are risk takers and despite the weather, we went up there and took the opportunity to shine as it was presented to us. We took the opportunity to do the right thing. The Veterans appreciated all of the effort and thought that went into this day. They hope to see us for years to come. By our school contributing in this type of a celebration, we made that day ten times more special for the Veterans. I would just like to thank everyone in the school for being so supportive and cooperative. It means a lot to the men and women who have fought and are continuing to fight for our country.

Thank you,
Dawson
