SACS Talent!

Recently SACS's own Rosie was contacted by the producers of America's Got Talent. They invited her to a special audition in Boston and if she is selected she will appear on the national TV show this summer! Way to go!

Words of the Week

We have two new words of the week.  They are:
Compare:  Identify ways things are the same (compare/contrast)
Ex. Ms. Cameron-Muscente likes to compare rhythms with her class.

Revisit: you think about or talk about it again
Ex.: Ms. Jarvis likes to revisit her days as a student here at SACS in the 1980s! (along with some other teachers. Can you guess who?)
Please don't forget our words from last week:  Persevere and and arrange
Are you doing any cool activities with these words?  Please post them on the morning announcements for all of us to see.

Local Food at SACS

Did you know that some of the food served in the SACS cafeteria comes right from farms here in Vermont? If you take a look at the map of Vermont and the "Meet the Farmer" wall at breakfast or lunch you can learn more about the local food and farmers. Keep checking because Mrs. Trainer and Mrs. Gunter will be updating it often!

SACS News

Listen Up SACS!  We are about to be become smarter.  For the rest of the school year you will be challenged to use the 2 new vocabulary "Words of the Week". They will be in the daily announcements as well as displayed in the lobby as you enter on Monday. If you are caught using the words (appropriately of course) in your speaking or in your writing your teacher owes you a City Card. You also get one if you find the word in your reading materials.  Families reading these announcements:  You can let your child's teacher know if you hear them using these words at HOME!!  They will be given a City Card.
The words for this week are:
Arrange:  You place items in a particular place or order.
Ex. Ms. Wight and Ms. Andrews like to arrange the gym for obstacle courses. They also like it when you arrange it back the way you found it!

Persevere:  You keep doing something even if it is difficult. You do not give up (Think Metacognitively)
Ex.  Mr. Mehaffey keeps telling Mr. Branon that if he perseveres he will indeed be funny one day.
GOOD LUCK THIS WEEK WITH YOUR VOCABULARY DEVELOPMENT!
