USA 7/8 Students Experienced Guided Meditation (12-21-2015)
Yoga Nidra instructor, Malaika Dosremedios, visited team USA on Monday and guided the students through a half hour of meditation in the large gym.  Students found it relaxing and stated that the practice helped them deal with unhelpful thoughts or feelings.  These Yoga Nidra practices are scientifically validated to help people become more productive, and deal with stress.

Travelers Map Project (in their hallway)

About Our Map
First, we picked places that we thought were important to St.Albans City. Then, we drew a picture of these places in groups of 1st,2nd and 3rd graders. Each group wrote a short article about that place and why it's important to the city.  If you scan the QR code with a smartphone or iPad, it will bring you to the short article. We used basic circuitry to light up these important places on a large map of the city.

How to Use the Map
Each picture has a number and a QR code.  The number on the picture corresponds to a number next to a switch.  To see the location of the picture on the map, simple press the switch!

To read more about the location use a QR scanning app on a smartphone or an iPad.  Our team iPads have an app called SCAN, which can be found in the choice apps folder.

Please Note, this project is ever evolving and still has some quirks.  We learned to be expert problem solvers during this experience.  Please excuse any technical difficulties!
