UPDATES FROM STUDENTS AND TEACHERS
Here are images and stories sent in by families and staff over recent days. TECHNOLOGY Tech class at home... taking apart an old VCR/DVD player ARTWORK This student got creative with inspirational artwork! INVESTIGATOR STUDENT CREATION Alex, the monster! Created by Miley Patterson HELPING HEALTH CARE WORKERS This 8th grader has been helping iron material to make masks for our local hospital. According to a recent Messenger newspaper article, there are many people in St. Albans sewing masks for health care workers. It is nice to see that our students are a part of this initiative. RAIDER NEWS Raider was busy enjoying the great outdoors on Tuesday! FIND THE STUFFED ANIMAL CHALLENGE Mrs. Biggie and other community members are putting a teddy bear or other stuffed animal in their windows or front doors so when parents take their kids out for a ride they can look for them and see how many they can find. Mrs. Biggie says it will be a safe and fun activity for the kids and will help with their counting skills. Hopefully, more people will participate. Kids can also participate by finding a bear or other stuffed animal (with Easter coming a bunny would be good) to hang on their door or window. Pictures for the announcements are welcome. Here is my blue Teddy for the challenge. Ms. Wanda McDaniel. It is a little hard to see. CONTENT WANTED St. Albans City School families and staff members, if you have anything positive to share on the announcements that show what students and adults are doing to promote learning and a sense of community in this time of uncertainty, then please send it on to Mr. Craib at mcraib@maplerun.org. Please add a short descriptive note to go with your content. It would also be helpful if you wrote that you are providing consent to share your images, video clips, artwork, etc... Thank you. |
