PICTURES

5TH GRADE ART - HABERMAN

Students in Ms. Haberman’s 5th-grade art classes have been creating "animal weavings". The samples shown here are still in progress.

Link to 10 Pictures of some of the artists who are creating this work.

Left: Art teacher, Ms. Haberman, showed the example she created and the paper idea template she provided to the students. What is interesting is how unique and special the student artwork turned out when children were given the chance to let their imaginations loose.

NAVIGATORS PREK - EMMONS

Last week we learned all about hibernation. We learned about a variety of animals that hibernate in the winter here in Vermont. The children created this art/science activity showing the different types of places the animals hibernate. Then they painted masks to become growling bears. These photos are from both the blue and the green groups.  Link to 16 Pictures.

USA 8TH GRADE - ROULEAU & VAUGHN

Students got to explore the muscular and skeletal system of chickens in a very concrete way. Everyone in the classroom got their own chicken wing to evaluate. First, they stripped the skin off of their wings. Next, they examined how the uncovered tendons and muscles move the wing structure when pulled upon. Finally, they separated the various bones of the wings to see how they are held together and how the move smoothly.  Link to 30 Pictures.

TRIUMPH - ALBRECHT

Students were asked to write a paragraph comparing and contrasting two characters from their silent reading books. They were asked to use descriptive details from their book and to make sure that their capitalization and punctuation were correct before turning in the assignment. Link to 16 Pictures.

BAGGED MEALS

For over eight months now the Abbey Group has been packing huge volumes of meals to go home to or with students. It is a massive task. In addition, since school started back in person, they are also busy providing packaged meals that are served in classrooms.

The employees who work in the cafeteria are motivated to do the work in part because they enjoy the interaction with kids as they come through the cafeteria or snack room. These days that aspect of school life is absent. So, it is admirable seeing them labor on what is often a very monotonous task week after week. We appreciate their contribution to keeping our school going through this challenging time.

IMAGINATION ART - COSTANTINO

Students layered vibrant watercolors and their own creativity on top of a grid suggested by their art teacher, Mr. Costantino. Children also worked on other paintings and some of these are shown in the linked photo album. Link to 20 Pictures. https://photos.app.goo.gl/qR3L4Nz3VgfYece9A
