Thanksgiving is a feast for families. We go to Meme and Pepe’s house. Meme cooks. Meme buys a turkey at Price Chopper. She buys a big turkey because we have 20 people. The turkey is 5 pounds. She takes it out of the package and pulls the wings off. Meme gives the turkey a bath in the sink. When there is just good stuff left, she puts the turkey in a bag and adds salt and pepper. She puts the turkey in the oven at 100 degrees. Meme cooks the turkey for 5 minutes and takes it out of the oven when it beeps. She wears gloves so she doesn’t get burned. Pepe cuts the turkey and labels it so the turkey doesn’t have to be shoved in a bag. The labels are spread out. Meme and Pepe set the table. We say Grace before we eat. We hold hands and talk about our day. Dad and I forget-we just want to eat! We eat turkey, potatoes, green beans, carrots- canned not fresh from the store. We also eat strawberries, and salad. We have chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert.
We all clean up. Meme and Pepe talk to the old people and everyone else plays outside.

Grandma and Grandpa come to us. My brother Jason goes to the woods and hunts a turkey. He gets a really big, super giant turkey- 62 pounds. Mom and Dad clean the turkey at the kitchen table with water. They know it is clean when there is no dirt on the turkey. Mom puts the turkey in a pan and cooks it on top of the stove. You don’t add anything, not even water. We like things plain. Turn the burner on and cook the turkey for 20 minutes. Dad cuts the turkey. I help with some of the preparation. I have a grown up job like cutting the vegetables. It is ok to put seasoning on vegetables but not on the turkey.

We eat turkey, green beans, chicken, noodles, carrots, broccoli, and bananas. For dessert we eat cupcakes with chocolate frosting and our Halloween candy. Grandma and Grandpa just hang out with us and gives us presents. My brothers play video games.
