Flu season information

Flu season is in full swing! As with nearly all counties in Vermont, Franklin county is also seeing positive cases. If your student is feeling unwell and has any of the following symptoms, please consider contacting your pediatrician or visiting urgent care’s walk in clinic.
  • fever* or feeling feverish/chills (*It’s important to note that not everyone with the flu will have a fever.)
  • fatigue (tiredness)
  • cough
  • sore throat
  • runny or stuffy nose
  • muscle or body aches
  • headaches
  • Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea, though this is more common in children than adults.
It can be difficult to tell the difference between a cold and the flu based on these symptoms alone. Typically the flu will be a quick onset. When in doubt, contact your pediatrician and stay home to rest and hydrate, be diligent with hand washing and be sure to cover your mouth with each cough.
