Dear Families,
__________________________ has been invited to participate in a summer peer leadership training for students entering 7th and 8th grade. The training will prepare students to be part of our school Student Empowerment for Equity and Diversity (SEED) team. Students on this team meet weekly to learn together and to plan and teach activities in grades 6-8 to address bullying, bias, and inequity.
All students who complete the training will be included in a peer leadership group throughout the 2019-20 school year. We will meet once per week to plan whole school and classroom activities. The group is co-facilitated by Jamilah Vogel, School Counselor, and Alan Salit, Team USA Special Educator.
Students will participate in a two day training session July 15 and 16, held at St. Albans City School from 8AM-3PM. During this two day training, students will participate in anti-bias education and learn leadership skills. This program is being offered free of charge, and bussing and lunches are provided. STUDENTS ATTENDING HUMANITIES CAMP CAN REGISTER FOR BOTH CAMPS.
What we will learn:
Registration is limited to 20 students. We will accept the first 20 registrations and form a waiting list if we fill up.
