Announcements 03-04-10

On Monday, March 15th from 6-7PM City School will offer a follow-up, hands-on Tech Safety Workshop for Parents in our computer lab. In January, our school counselors, Deb McCarthy and Vicki Nelson led a discussion of the challenges parents and schools face in promoting and monitoring safe and constructive use of our newest technologies (internet access, cell-phone use etc). On the 15th Lucie deLaBruere will lead the presentation of tools we all can use to maximize safe use of current technology.

Our computer lab has 23 stations so you must RSVP(call, email or in person) to reserve your spot. My telephone # is 527-0565 X3201. If response exceeds our lab capacity we will plan additional opportunities. Thanks. We look forward to seeing you on the 15th.

Parents-
Are you looking for a wonderful way to provide a service to children in
need? The Fresh Air fund is seeking families to open their hearts and homes
to New York City children this summer. As a volunteer host family with The
Fresh Air Fund, you will help a child enjoy the simple pleasures of a summer
away from hot city streets.

Call Michelle Piche at 849-2375 or visit www.Freshair.org to volunteer.

Open Doors: Please complete and return your completed form to open doors by March 5th. If your child did not bring a form home there are extra forms int he front lobby. Please remember that classes fill up fast and they are filled on a first come first serve basis.

Summer Plans:
It’s not too early to be thinking about summer plans for your children such as camps and other recreational opportunities. It’s especially important for Franklin County residents who might be looking for financial assistance to support these plans. The Warner Fund offers such support but the deadline for applications is April 1st. If you are interested in a Warner Fund application or more information please contact me at 527-0565 or dennys@sacsvt.org.
