The formal 8th grade City School Graduation is June 11, 2010. We are inviting families to join us 5:30-6:15 within learning communities to celebrate and honor 8th grade students. Learning Communities will give out awards, certificates and medals to recognize student success in Language Arts, Math, 21st Century, Art, Music, Band, PE Tech Savvy, etc.
Next, the formal graduation ceremony will begin in the large gym at 6:30 followed by a reception and student dance. During the formal ceremony students will wear medals indicating they received a learning community award. Also, during the graduation other scholarships and traditional awards will be presented.
We hope to see you celebrate our 8th grade students and their accomplishments on June 11th.

After School Tutoring
Due to Parent Teacher Conferences next week, there will be no after school
tutoring for the week of April 19. We will see everyone after vacation,
the week of May 3.

For Boys and Girls Ages Pre-K through 8th Grade
Sundays: April 25th, and May 2nd
Time: 9:00-11:00
Where: Johnson State College Campus
Cost: $50.00 per child (includes t-shirt and soccer ball)

Memorial Hockey Scholarship
A hockey scholarship fund has been established in memory of Diane Lunderville. Diane served as the middle school secretary at St. Albans City School for sixteen years. She had a great love of children and was an avid hockey fan. It is our hope that this scholarship will provide a positive experience for the children selected and the sport that Diane supported throughout her life.
This scholarship (not to exceed $300.00 each) will allow a St. Albans City middle school
boy and girl to attend the hockey school of their choice. The scholarship will be awarded yearly at graduation ceremonies to the boy and girl that exemplify the characteristics that
Diane valued:
• Love of Athletics
• Sportsmanship
• Desire to use one’s abilities to be the very best they can be.

Twenty-nine kids competed in Engineering Day, grades 6 through 8. Except for the edible cars, our students competed against mostly high school kids.
Gina Nedig and Machaela Maille competed in the Pasta Bridge category. Joann Barton, Travis Roberts and Brittany Tatro made a Windmill entry.
The event took place at the Air National Guard in Williston April 8. Keynote speaker was Brian Duby
