The Close the Loop St. Albans celebration took place at BFA on Friday night with an invitation to the community to enjoy some Ben & Jerry's ice cream and to see how far the project has come since it's inception at BFA in 2010. Participating schools, including SACS, were recognized for their hard work and dedication to the project. Since March of 2011 our school has diverted 30,594 pounds (15.3 tons) of food scraps from the landfill to composting! Team USA was asked by The Highfields Center for Composting to make a video for the presentation. Some Team USA students followed the food waste from our school compost buckets to Hudak Farm to see just how the whole process works. On Tuesday March 20th, Team USA will be hosting a Webinar by VEEP regarding an energy audit in our school. It is open to students and teachers. It will run from 3:30 to 4:30. If you are interested in just gathering information, or in playing a part in Team USA's Energy committee, please attend.

This Tuesday, Team USA will be presenting projects on potential Skate parks and Teen Centers. The best projects will be presented to the City Council.
Team USA is also organizing a Diversity Day. It will include all Team USA members, current and past. Please contact us if you are interested in being a part.
