Walking with SACS

Team Renaissance has built a 15 minute "Walk for Fitness" into their daily schedule. The video below highlights the many benefits of the walk.

Dynamic Design starts its day with a "Walk and Talk" session around the school building.  Building social skills is the primary goal along with getting some exercise.

PAG 2013 Mum Pick Up

If you ordered mums from the PAG, they will be here for you to pick them up from 5:00-7:00pm by the gym doors.

Book Fair

The annual Scholastic Book Fair starts today in the Library. It will be open from 7:45am-3:30pm all week. On Open House night, the hours are extended until 7:00pm

Note from the Health Office

Due to the increase of  pertussis (whooping cough), the Vermont Dept. of  Health is encouraging people who have regular contact with infants and young children to update their vaccines.  The DOH will be offering free vaccines, Tuesday, September 25 from 11 AM to 2 PM and 4 to 7:30 PM, at the District Office at 20 Houghton St. in St. Albans.

Crazy for Lines and Spaces (5th-8th) (begins 10/10)
Improve your music skills by learning to play
 the recorder Learn about making music, reading notation, building vocabulary, composition, improvisation, and ensemble work.

From Books to Movies: What’s the Difference?
(begins 10/8) (5th-8th)
Read books that have been made into movies and watch the movie versions.  Compare and contrast the two using Venn Diagrams. Which is your favorite? Cast your vote and write reviews.

Raiders Knitting Club (5th-8th) (begins 10/9)
Visit a St. Albans business What a Yarn and learn the basics of knitting. 
Knit a hat for a local charity and create something for yourself to take home. 

Odyssey of the Mind (6th-8th) begins 10/25
   Looking for 6th-8th grade students that are interested in being a part of a creative problem solving  competition.  Your team will select a problem, create a solution, then compete against other teamsfrom other schools.

Open Doors will be at the Open House on Thursday if you would like to stop by
and register your child.
