News from Renaissance

Last week, Renaissance students had fun getting to know each other as they worked through a few challenges.  For example, who could get their marble down the entire ramp the slowest; given two meters of tape, 8 index cards, one marble, and a wooden ramp.

Green Up Day

Renaissance will be hosting a Fall green up on September 12th.  We will be working with our school community to weed and clean up around the flower beds.  Invitations have been sent to each community. Please contact Renaissance with any questions.

5:00 Bus Protocol - Important Please Read

The purpose of the 5 p.m. Bus is to provide equity for all students in regards to after school activities at St. Albans City School.  These will include Athletics, Homework Club, Learning Community Activities and access to our Learning Commons (Library).

This bus may be utilized by students who follow all 5 p.m. Bus protocols and expectations and they are as follows:

• The 5 p.m. Bus is for students who have signed up for after school supervised activities.
• No student is to stay after school unless they have been assigned to an adult supervised activity and have a signed 5 p.m. Bus permission slip from parent/guardian.

• The “5 p.m. Bus permission slip” must be turned in to the front desk by 1 p.m. on the day of the activity. The permission slip must include their drop off address and parent/guardian contact number.
• The student must sign up daily by 1 p.m. in order for the front desk to compile an accurate list of students with addresses to develop a neighborhood route for the bus driver.
• City School will have access to a full size bus or van depending upon the needs of the day.
• The front desk person will ring the chimes to notify students that the bus or van is boarding.
• It is the student’s responsibility to board the bus at the correct time and follow all bus expectations.
