Announcements 1-8-13

News from MathCounts


Students have been hard at work solving problems where they have to try different techniques and use multiple steps to get the answer.  Our school competition is Monday January 14th.
Here is an example of a problem to test your skills:



Band

5th and 6th grade Jr. Band is rehearsing today at 12:15. Everyone should be there, even if you forgot your instrument, which NOBODY should have done.

A reminder for 6th grade lessons for drums, clarinets, saxes this morning.

Engineering Day

UVM Engineering Day for grades 4-8 is fast approaching.  It is a great event where projects are prepared in groups ahead of time and then presented the day of the event.  Put your creativity and complex thinking skills to work creating an edible car, playful invention or smartphone of the future.  If you would like to apply to participate in this event please fill out the following Google form:  Engineering Day Application 2013.  The application is due Friday Jan. 11th.

Dance 1/11 for Grades 4-6

PAG 2013 is hosting a dance for students in grades four, five and six on Friday night from 6:00-8:00pm in the cafeteria. It's $3 to get in and snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. We hope to see you there!

Open Doors

Open Doors Performance this Weds. January 9th at 3:45-4:15 in the Library

 Featuring: Hip Hop Extreme Dance Class
                    Ultimate Hip Hop Dance Class
                    Crazy for Lines and Spaces Recorder class

Please arrive at 3:40 to be seated. 

All of the students that are performing should go to the cafeteria at their dismissal time.
