As part of our Healthy Choices Unit, Susan Hopkins spoke to Renaissance about what it is like to live with Type 1 Diabetes. She also discussed with the students the importance of healthy eating habits and its effects on the body. We learned that eating too many carbohydrates can raise blood sugar levels and cause long term health problems.
SACS Wins a Silver Medal
As you may have read in the 21st Century School section of the St. Albans Messenger over the weekend, SACS has earned a Silver Medal for School Wellness. The award was given by the Health Department in partnership with the Agency of Education, New England Dairy and Food Council and the Vermont Health Education Initiative.
