Announcements 5-22-13

Dynamic Landscapes

On Friday, eight students--four 5th graders and four 6th grader--from City School presented at the regional technology conference Dynamic Landscapes.

In addition to their own two presentations, the students were key contributors in a presentation regarding professional portfolios. Plus, the students were invited to the front of the audience by the keynote speaker, Steve Hargadon.

Great job, students! You did an amazing job throughout the entire day!

Farm to School

Calling all Learning Communities!!!
Each Learning Community is going to plant a vegetable garden through our SACS Farm to School Program.
1.  Each community should choose your garden site (sent through an already shared document), go to your garden site and remove any weeds. New dirt will be added after you remove weeds.  A bucket of garden tools is available for sign out at the front desk.
2.  Visit https://sites.google.com/a/fcsuvt.org/sacs-garden-choices/?pli=1, choose Farm to School and choose the type of garden to plant.
3.  Contact Heather Smith, SAC's Farm to School Coordinator, at smithh@fcsuvt.org and she will set you up with seeds, plants and tools.

Check out the Farm to School Info Center in the lobby.  There's lots of work needed at the school garden in the next two weeks.  Please contact Heather if any Learning Communities are interested in helping
