Red Ribbon Week

The week of October 28 - November 1 we will celebrate Red Ribbon Week at St.Albans City School. Red Ribbon Week is celebrated in schools across the country to increase public awareness of drug abuse and to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. The theme for this year is “A Healthy Me is Drug Free”.

Our Vermont Kids Against Tobacco (VKAT) group has developed themes and activities that will be implemented during the week to promote a drug-free, smoke-free, healthy community. You can get involved at home by helping to reinforce the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and saying “No” to drugs, alcohol, and tobacco.

Each day during the week children and staff will support Red Ribbon Week through various activities and dressing up for theme days. Please refer to the themes listed below.

Monday: “Put a cap on Drugs” -Wear a hat day
Tuesday: “Team up and say No to drugs” - Wear your favorite sports team shirt
Wednesday: “A healthy me is drug free” - Wear red day
Thursday: “Be a hero, have the POWER to say NO” - Wear your favorite superhero tee shirt
Friday: “Raiders for healthy choices” - Wear Raiders/Community Shirts

Dance Tonight

Team Triumph is hosting a dance tonight (10/25) in the cafeteria from 6-8.

Arrival and Dismissal from Dances:

Students enter through the gymnasium doors and sign themselves into the dance.

School Expectations (Safe, Achieving, Caring) remain at all evening events and that includes dances.

At the end of our dances, chaperones and staff will walk students through the building to our front lobby. We will dismiss from there.

Please be prompt for pick up as staff and chaperones need to get home too. If your student does not have a ride home, please don’t send them to our dances unless they have made arrangements before coming to the dance.
