Hungry Heart

Teachers and support staff at St. Albans City School have  joined with students in 6-8th grade in thinking, talking, and writing about the impact opiate addiction could have in their community now and in the future.

As a culminating event, the school will be hosting the movie The Hungry Heart, tonight March 11, 2014 at 6:00PM in the school’s library, for all students and parents in grades 6-8. The Hungry Heart provides an intimate look at the often hidden world of prescription drug addiction through the  eyes of Vermont Pediatrician Fred Holmes who works with patients struggling with this disease.  We are pleased to announce Dr. Fred Holmes will be attending this event to introduce the documentary and conduct a Q & A session afterwards. This event is designed for parents and students to see together so it helps start the conversation at home.
