Important Biking Safety Rules

While is is wonderful that so many people are biking to and from school it is also scary seeing some of the unexpected riding behaviors.  Please help us reduce the complaints the school is receiving some observed biking choices.

1.  Always wear a helmet!
2.  Ride on the sidewalks except on Main Street and the area of Lake Street closest to main street.
3.  Walk all crossings.
4.  Always make eye contact and communicate with drivers when crossing roads.  Don't assume drivers see you or will stop when you enter a crossing.

Almost all of you have had safety training in the Fall of this school year.  Please remember what you learned and follow the rules.

News from Sustainable Fundraising

SACS School-Wide End-of-Year Box Top Goal = $553.70
Reaching this Box Tops for Education collection goal would make SACS this year's top earners out of 305 participating schools in the state of Vermont!  Wow!  Can you help us?  Please continue to clip and collect Box Tops for Education because we need 5,537 of them to reach the goal!  Our spring contest is underway and the standings will be announced soon.

Sustainable Fundraising Update

A group of 7th & 8th Grade Dynamic Designers work to organize and promote several Sustainable Fundraising Programs throughout the year.  We are ecstatic to announce this year’s totals:

Hannaford Helps Schools: $396.00
Planet Aide: $309.25 + $133.90 = $443.15
Box Tops for Education: $686.94 + $1373.7 = $2,060.64

TOTAL = $2,899.79

These funds are divided equally among Learning Communities for enrichment/field trip funds, so this year, each community will receive $223 (and 6 cents!).

This wouldn't be possible without all the school community help and support - thank you so much! Keep Clippin'
