St. Albans Interesting Facts

The St. Albans Foundry and Implement Company was established in 1840.  It made iron and steel products for the railroad and large machinery for farms including threshing machines and silage cutters. Before the development of electric motors or gasoline-powered engines, these machines were run by horse-powered treadmills.  This machinery was shipped all over the world.  The Foundry was a complex of six buildings including a large two story building that stood at the corner of Lake and Foundry (now Federal) Streets. The Foundry closed in 1911.

Walk to School Day Wednesday October 8th

Make sure you plan for our next walk to school day on Wednesday the 8th. Parents are welcome as always.

Open Doors

Open Doors acceptance letters were distributed to teacher boxes Thursday afternoon.  Please bring home your acceptance letter today and remember to give it to your parent or guardian.  Parents will call and say they never received an acceptance letter only to find out that it is still in their child's backpack. The acceptance letter has very important information about start and end dates for each class so it is very helpful to keep it.
Open Doors will also post it on the Open Doors Board upstairs. If anyone else wants Open Doors to send it to them just let us know.
Go Raiders! It is great to see so many athletes taking care of themselves and coming to the cafeteria at 2:45 or 3:10 to get something to eat before your practice or game.
It is also nice to see everyone doing their best to clean up after themselves and to remind their peers in case they forget. (it can happen sometimes)  Go Raiders!
