*video will not display in email - click here to view.

It's the third day in our week of focusing on mindfulness. Take a few moments and follow along with this video and see how it might change the course of your whole day.

We will try some mindful activities at lunch today - be ready to listen and be mindful at lunch!

Thursday Sense: Sight

  • Your eyes will process 24 million images in your lifetime
  • One eye consists of more than two million working parts
  • Your eyes can recognize candle light from up to 14 miles away

Mindful Practice: I spy - Today we are going to practice looking closely at the world around us. Pick an object and get others to guess what it is by describing it’s color, shape, texture and size.

Jr. Band is rehearsing today at 12:15.

Friday is cello day for older orchestra members.

7th grade violins are having lesson at 1 today, and Margot at 1:30.

Open Doors

Open Doors would also like to thank Claire Draper for teaching the SPARK class and Eric Boren for his commitment to this class along with other classes during the week. In the SPARK class the students challenged themselves each week in various fitness areas using a variety of fitness tools and even balloons! Hunter H.was a volunteer for this class and did a great job taking initiative.  He took his role seriously and we all benefitted from his leadership! Hunter has signed up to be a volunteer for our second session.

Thank you to Jamie Ayers for making reading fun using Reader’s Theater. Serenity Love consistently attended the class fulfilling her role as a volunteer!  She even volunteered for the VerMONEY class on Tuesday!

Thank you to Jamie Ayers for teaching the Kindness Center Creations class. Please stop by and see Ms. Gelfon and Ms. Cameron Muscente’s music room to see the students’ creativity.  The students also created pictures for the Kindness Center.  They are commended for their teamwork and collaboration to get the job done!  Thank you to Eric Boren for helping to keep the students on task
