Open Doors News: None of your Beeswax
On the final day of the Open Doors session (Thursday 11-19-2015), the None of Your Beeswax group sampled several different types of honey. These included clover honey in the bear bottle, organic local honey from Champlain Valley Apiary that was liquid, and one that was crystalized, agave nectar, and Balizian honey.
Did you know:
- Honey is the only natural sweetener that is not processed?
- Honey never spoils, even if its not refrigerated!
- A honey bee will visit between 50-100 flowers in a collection trip. To make 1 pound of honey, the hive must visit about 2 million flowers!
