Absences and Late Arrivals
Parents and guardians of students are reminded to call in all absences and all late arrivals before 8:30 AM everyday to avoid students being mark unexcused. Calls and messages can be left at 527-0565 ext 1107.  Thank You

New Snow Tube Rule
There can be a maximum of three students on a snow tube at a time.  Lately too many students have had to visit the nurse's office when four or more children pile on.
Thank you.  Mitch Craib -wellness and stewardship coordinator

Outside Recess Today
Temperatures are higher today than yesterday, and so is the breeze.  Do get out and exercise.  Unfortunately, there will be no snow tubes out today.  There are sections of the hill that are still OK, but because we tend to spread out when using the tubes, and there are expanding patches of the hill where grass, dirt and rocks are exposed, we will have to wait until it snows again before we use the tubes.

Box Top Collection Results Week 1
Once again, our City School community has amazed us!  After only the first week, we are just 5 BoxTops away from our goal of 2,016 BoxTops for Education!  So, we've set a second goal that's even higher because the school community is doing so well with collecting.  Our Goal #2 is 3,500 Box Tops. Keep collecting to help us reach this new goal.

Both Team Triumph and Team Imagination made big contributions to this week's total, but everyone is helping in some way! (If we didn't get your Box Tops this week, we'll be sure to add them to next week's totals.)

Here are the results:

Science with Team Discovery
Discovery students practice using the scientific method which needs to be followed for their Ecybermission challenges. Students made predictions about how many drops of water a penny could hold. They collected data, discussed independent and dependent variables, found the mean, all while learning about surface tension and molecules. This also sparked some "what if" ideas that followed. What if we used soapy water? Carbonated water? All of the data collected allowed for students to interpret the results while having fun too!

Here is a very short video clip that demonstrates the process.  Link to video   Note: It is possible that you may unable to view this video if you are not associated with our school district and supervisory union.
