Hello from the nurses office!
We wanted to remind everyone that winter is a heightened time for cold and flu illnesses. Nearly 60 million school days are lost each year in the USA due to colds or the influenza virus, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Infections spread in schools so easily because students are in close contact and share supplies and equipment.

To help minimize the spread of cold and flu viruses, here are some great tips to keep in mind:
  • Practice good hand washing, often.
  • If you are sick, stay home to minimize the exposure to others.
  • Practice proper coughing, sneezing, and nose-blowing techniques.
  • Be sure to eat lots of healthy foods and stay hydrated. "

Thanks,
Morgan

What Math Looked Like in Team Triumph on 1-28-2016
Mrs. Dean is shown here teaching geometry and volume concepts to her students. Most lessons include cooperative group work and hands-on activities.  The process in her math classes is engaging and students absorb and understand the material presented.

Physical Education
Instructor, Ms. Andrews, guides these young students through the last class period of their gymnastics module in physical education this school year.  On this day (1-28-2016) it was clear that students were improving their movement skills and getting plenty of exercise. Lots of smiles.
