Autism Month
People with autism experience different sensory triggers than typical people. They may be overstimulated (really bothered by) or under-stimulated (hardly bothered by at all) by noises, sights, sounds, touches and smells. This 2 minute, 46 second video is an all black screen, but the speaker talks about what it is like for a student in a 6/7th grade class when they are overstimulated by noise. (Please watch your volume)

A Kindergarten class learned about the Explorers' Worm Bin

3rd graders from Explorers came to Mrs. Lawyer's class to teach students about a special kind of earthworm, red wigglers.  Red wigglers are excellent at processing vegetable scraps and leaves.  The explorers put some of their snack waste into their bin once or twice a week.
