Band

The Jr. Band concert originally scheduled for tonight has been moved to April 26th, after vacation.
Jazz Band is rehearsing tomorrow, and Jr. Band today.

Outside Recess
Much warmer, although a chance of moisture throughout the day.

Notice: Girls on the Run will NOT be meeting on April 25th and 27th or during Learning Showcase week. Girls on the Run will resume on May 9th.

Characteristics of Autism -Trouble with Communication

Verbal and Nonverbal Communication Activity: Teachers please pair students up or have two students demonstrate for the class (student A and student B). Student A has something student B wants. Student B needs to get the item from student A...WITHOUT talking (and being safe)!

Discussion After: Many of our students with autism have a hard time communicating. They have trouble expressing what they need or want, so they tend to take what they want, have a tantrum or get physical trying.

Today's Snack is the Golden Delicious Apple
The Golden Delicious apple came from the merging of two different kinds of golden apples. The first tree grew in 1914 and the fruit has been a favorite for its sweet, mellow taste and light skin ever since. These apples tend to shrivel and dry out faster than most, so when you get your hands on one, eat it right away!
