Notice
Tuesday the school was buzzing with fear about Clowns. We have looked into the situation, and there is nothing substantiated. We will be having school on Friday, as will all of the other schools in our area. We are reminding teachers to be highly aware of the surroundings and of where the children are at all times. We are reminding our students that it is our job to keep you safe, it is your job to help us keep you safe. Please make sure you are where you need to be at all times. If you see something, tell an adult.

Today is National Walk to School Day and one of our Walking Wednesdays

Take advantage of the Fall weather to come out and get some easy exercise with your friends. Find your route and meeting point times using the map below. See you on the way.

Full Sr. Band with 6th graders is tomorrow. Dakota has a beginning trombone lesson today, and beginning trumpets, bass guitar, and drums is also tomorrow.

Spelling Bee
Today (Wednesday) students from our school will be participating in a spelling be occurring in Fairfield. These are just some of the participants. Wish them well.

Veterans Day Event
St. Albans City School - Veterans Day is just over a month away. Team USA has been busy planning the many parts to the event and need some help from our community.

We will have a float again. We would like learning community teachers to select two responsible students, to ride the S.A.C.S. float on Veterans Day 11/11/16. Please send the names of the two selected students to: ejparent@fcsut.org by Wednesday 10/19/16. These students may also help in designing the float.

We Need Your Input! We will be holding an Art Contest to get ideas for the float design. This is open to anyone in any grade (1 submission per student please.) The theme for the event is Remembering and Honoring Our Veterans.

We would like to have all the submissions in by Wednesday 10/19/16. Please bring your drawing to team U.S.A. Superheros (teachers) or email the picture to: pjdeslauriers@fcsuvt.org. For Snacks today we have baby carrots
Baby carrots aren’t born that way. They are cut from a special type of carrot variety that grows slim and tender.

The carrot seeds are planted in tight clusters to encourage the carrot roots to grow into a slender shape.

Baby carrots prefer looser soil, which allows the roots to stretch long and straight as they grow.

The carrot variety that’s used for baby carrots is harvested young, typically after 120 to 140 days. Full-size carrots average 160 to 200 days of growth.

Two-inch baby carrot pieces are cut from full-grown, young carrots, not broken ends or remnants.
