Students may take two fruit servings with each meal. They must take at least one.
Oranges are expected for Tuesday.
Orange peel can be used in food e.g to make a candy and orange tea. It can be used at home as a natural cleanser. In Jamaica, people use orange peel to cut grease and oil. It can be used as a natural medicine for lowering blood pressure, depression, and anxiety. It can be used for your home gardens to keep slugs away. http://ohfact.com/interesting-facts-about-oranges/

Everyone: Operation Happiness
Renaissance students will be collecting non-perishable food for Operation Happiness again this year. Examples of great donations would be canned fruits/vegetables, dry foods like pasta, rice or cereal, peanut butter/jelly, soups or jars of baby food. Please contact us if you have questions about other donations and be sure to check expiration dates. Starting November 28th, students will come to your community between 8:20-8:30 to collect donations. We will post daily results in the announcements to show how many donations have been collected from each community. Our goal is to collect 3,000 donations from our school. The community that collects the most items, will receive an Ice Cream Celebration. We will be collecting donations from November 28th - December 9th.

Travelers' Pie Party
Travelers have been learning about the meaning of Thanksgiving. Students invited staff from SACS to show their gratefulness (11-22-2016), and invited families as well to celebrate cultural unity. Pie was served and the students got to show off the table manners they have been practicing. Some students also spoke about what they are thankful for. It was a wonderful time to be together. Thank you to all the families who were able to make it!
