            Local & Healthy Food
Local farmers, our school and the Abbey are all striving to offer as much local healthy food in our cafeteria as possible.  In case you have not noticed, local foods are always highlighted on the lunch menus.  Additionally, each month a wonderful local food is celebrated and the special food for February is cabbage.  You will see it a number of times on the menu this month in one form or another. Enjoy.

            PICTURES AND REPORTS

            Snowshoes
Grade 2 Investigators are experimenting with snowshoes. They have purchased 4 different snowshoe styles and are testing them out for fit, ease of use and binding style. Each trial will be followed by a survey and when the results are tallied and the best models determined, they will request a presentation time with the School Board. Their hope is to acquire a classroom set of snowshoes for our school to share.

            Walking Wednesday Results
Sixty four students and twelve adults walked into school Wednesday morning.  The 20 degree temperature and lightly falling snow did not discourage this hardy crew.  Among students, the learning community with the most participants was the Incredibles. Discovery and Travelers also had nice turnout rates.  However, the team with the most participants altogether was the group of walking leaders and volunteers.  Way to go adults.
