SNOW AND BUS SAFETY
We need to remind ourselves to follow all bus expectations so that drivers can pay full attention to driving their bus. The roads have been slippery and high snowbanks make it difficult for drivers to see. Please wait at your stops and make sure that you are on the sidewalk. Do not play in the snow banks as you can fall into the road and be hit by a vehicle that might not see you.
At the end of the day make sure that you wear your snow boots as they will help prevent you from falling. When you are dropped off at your house or day care please make sure that you leave the bus and immediately walk onto the sidewalk. If you are crossing the street always wait for the bus driver’s signal. Our collective goal is to keep students and adults safe. Let’s all work together to make sure that we are all safe.

RECIPE FROM UNIFIED ARTS NIGHT
Here is a wonderful brownie recipe from Family and Consumer Science and Farm to School -Mrs. Lamb and Mrs. Smith. The brownies are super easy to make and were very popular on Unified Arts Night.
BLACK BEAN BROWNIES
1-15 oz can of black beans (strained and rinsed well).
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup canola or coconut oil
1/2 cup quick oats
2 heaping Tbsp dark cocoa
2 tsp pure real vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. Sea salt
1/2 tsp. Baking powder
1/2 c. Semi sweet chocolate chips
Using a food processor, purée black beans. Add remaining ingredients EXCEPT chocolate chips and purée until very smooth. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line small baking pan (9x9) with parchment paper. Stir chocolate chips into the mixture and spread into the pan. Optional: sprinkle a small amount of chocolate chips on top and bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on baking rack. Cool completely or refrigerate 30 minutes to allow brownies to set up.
