Orchestra lessons are on for today, along with Krystina on drum at 9:30 and Dakota at 2:45.

Jr. Band is rehearsing tomorrow.


AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMMING

PLEASE NOTE - There will be no after school programs on the afternoon of Thursday, February 16th because of the school wide Unified Arts night. This includes: Athletics, Open Doors and Homework Club. Students will need to follow their normal school day dismissal plan.

          EXPECTED RECESS WEATHER

          It will be relatively warm and windy.  It will also be quite wet. Wear clothing and footwear that will keep you dry when you go outside for recess.

          Everyone: SACS School Board Meeting
          February 9th. 6:00 pm. Location SACS Library

          4-6th Students: Team Triumph Valentine's Dance
          Friday February 10th. 6pm – 8pm.  Location SACS Cafeteria

          7/8 Students: Dance in Team USA
          February 10th. Starts: 6:00 pm. Ends: 8:00 pm. Location: Team USA

          DANCE PROTOCOL

          The entry fee for the dance is $3.00.

          Arrival and Dismissal from Dances:
          1. 4-6 Students enter through the gymnasium doors and sign themselves into the dance.  7/8 Students enter through the front lobby of the school
          2. School Expectations (Safe, Achieving, Caring) remain at all evening events and that includes dances.
          3. At the end of our dances, chaperones and staff will walk students through the building to our front lobby. We will dismiss from there.
          4. Please be prompt for pick up as staff and chaperones need to get home too. If your student does not have a ride home, please don’t send them to our dances unless they have made arrangements before coming to the dance.

          EVENTS



          SACS 4-6 Dance
          Team Triumph is hosting a Hollywood Celebrity dance on February 10, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  The cost is $3.00. The dance is going to have a lot of Hollywood features like Red Carpet interviews and a photo booth. You can also dress up as your favorite celebrity and if you do, your name goes into a raffle. We will be drawing names for awesome prizes.  If you give the DJ, 50 cents, you can give a shout out to a friend.  There will be drinks, snacks and sweets for sale as well.  Students will be expected to follow all dance expectations. Students will need to be dropped off at the gym doors entrance and picked up at the front entrance of the school. Please make sure that you are on time to pick up your child.





          UNIFIED ARTS NIGHT!
          Thursday, February 16, 2017, from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M.

          HERE IS WHAT TO EXPECT AT UNIFIED ARTS NIGHT

          Family and Consumer Science Room: Stop by room AC210 for a delicious sample of quinoa salad with Mary Ellen Lamb and Farm to Table Coordinator, Heather Smith. The recipe, as well as food and kitchen safety tips will be available.
          Art Galleries and Rooms:  Art projects from all grades, including cardboard cityscapes, library chairs, and much more will be on display.  

          Tech Ed Room: Come try out one of our laser cut puzzles and explore some of our robots!

          Maker Space:  Making with Technology! Come check out some of our tools and equipment for making and creating.

          Band Room:  Check out an Open Rehearsal for Orchestra

          Music Rooms: Will open after the chorus concert at 5:50pm. Come check out what’s happening in the music rooms!

          Cafeteria: Snacks Available 5:45-6:30

          Learning Commons: Displays of world language work and painted chairs by students

          Small Gym:
          Playground Balls - ONLY FOR GRADES PreK-2

          Learning Commons:
          5:15-5:45 Chorus - 3-6 and 7/8th Grade

          7th & 8th Grade Students Have been Painting Library Chairs
          There is some incredible art work nearing completion in Ms. Haberman and Ms. Tagliamonte's 7/8 Unified Arts Elective classes.  Students have been painting over bland brown library chairs with images and colors inspired by various children's books and stories. You can check out their impressive work at THIS LINK.  More chairs are being painted and, once completed, will be shown on daily announcements.
