BAND
Sr. Band members are staying with their team for the full day today. Sr. Band will meet tomorrow and Mr. M will have as many lessons as possible on non test days. Full Orchestra and lessons for 6-7-8 are not happening on Wednesday. Lessons for beginning violin and cello are happening. Beginning saxes and trombone have lessons today. |

WALKING CONTEST RESULTS FOR FIRST WEEK IN MAY
USA, Voyagers and Triumph all completed many laps in the first three days of the Walking Contest. Triumph became the first Champions and they are now the closest to winning the pool party at the end of the school year. Impressive total Triumph with 167 laps.
The Champion for the first week for the Pre-K through 3rd grade teams is Investigators with 55 laps. Excellent job athletes!

USA TROUT EDUCATION PROJECT Students in USA are teaching the kindergarteners about the development of trout from eggs to adults. They presented a educational slide show followed by a show-and-tell look at a trout fish tank. USA students also showed the younger students some of the steps they have to take daily to maintain the fish in their tank -monitoring water cleanliness, temperature and other variables.
CONSIDER HOW MUCH SUGAR CAN BE FOUND IN THESE COMMON DRINKS
Too much sugar is a concern because sugar tends to displace healthier sources of calories and promotes obesity.

DISTRICT MUSIC FESTIVAL
Middle school students from chorus and band had the opportunity to attend the annual District Music Festival at MVU last Friday and Saturday. Students rehearsed with their guest directors and ensembles for many hours. Saturday ended with a concert put on by the Chorus, Concert Band and Wind Ensemble.

Renaissance Students Deflated the Snow Tubes and moved them to storage for the Summer. 5-8-2017. This move freed up the storage shed for warm weather recess equipment. See below... RECESS EQUIPMENT Learning communities feel free to use the playground balls, hula hoops, frisbees, cones and pinnies for recess activities. Please replace them neatly in the storage shed when done.
