FALL ATHLETIC PHOTOS
Leonard Parent will be taking team and individual pictures,  photo forms have been given to coaches. Please bring your jersey on picture day!
  5/6 Girls: 10/3, 5:00 (at the start of practice that day)
  5/6 Boys: 10/5, 3:15 (will be staying after to watch the 7/8 Boys game)
  7/8 Girls: 10/6, 3:15 (at the start of practice that day)
  7/8 Boys: 10/11, 3:15 (at the start of practice that day)

Students who need to take the late bus must register for it before 12:00 noon - there is no late bus on Fridays.

BAND

Band lessons for Lionel, Jonathan, Ella, Tristan and Connor are today. Please be on time.
Full Orchestra is rehearsing today at 2.

Orchestra lessons for 8th grade violins is not happening this afternoon.

Mr. Mehaffey will have the beginning violin and cello lesson schedule by the end of the day, and will be available at open house tonight and tomorrow. If any beginners have their instrument today, please give it to Mr. Mehaffey to go over.

Tomorrow, which is Friday, band lessons will begin for Tayah Paquette, Issac Muir, Sierra Wedge, and Andrew Sawyer.

ON WAY-TO-GO WALKING WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 4TH, THE GOAL WILL BE TO GET AT LEAST 50% OF STUDENTS AND STAFF TO SCHOOL BY...

Busing. Actually our buses are not like this. They ride about half empty most days.

WHY?
Way-to-Go is an Vermont Organization that is trying to get people to use fewer vehicles and be more energy efficient in the way we travel to school. Our school has the same goal.

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE SUCCEED IN GETTING MORE THAN 50% HERE EFFICIENTLY on October 4th?
We will have a chance to win a $30,000 dollar solar tracker or a 2-tiered indoor bicycle storage rack.

OPEN HOUSE SEPTEMBER 28TH
There is an Open House for students and families on Thursday, September 28th from 5:00-7:00 PM. There will be a wonderful free spaghetti meal.  Come meet teachers and attend the Resource and Book Fairs.

What is CODESMYTHS you ask?

It is an opportunity to apply your problem solving skills in a self-directed environment where you learn how to program and code for computers of all sizes.  You get to collaborate with fellow classmates and learn a skill that is applicable in school and out in the workforce.  It may even be  a bit of FUN, especially as you get to design what you want to create.

The kick-off event is for 4th - 8th grade students new to Codesmyths, so you can get a better idea of what you do in the course, why we teach it, and how to sign up.

WALKING WEDNESDAY RESULTS
At least 162 people came out on the extra Walking Wednesday. The morning weather was delightful. Thank you leaders, adults and participants for making the event happen. Once again the Incredibles had the highest participation rate with a total of 21 students. Nice going! Renaissance also had an excellent turnout. Anyone who walks or bikes to school deserves celebration.
