BERNIE SANDERS REPRESENTATIVE VISITED
Erica Campbell came to St. Albans City School on Tuesday to get an overview of the school's Farm-to-School program on behalf of Bernie Sanders. She was shown the cafeteria where we incorporate local foods into the menu. Our Farm-to-School coordinator, Heather Smith, then toured her through the gardens, our orchard and the composting area. Ms. Campbell then went upstairs to see the Family and Consumer Science are where Mrs. Lamb and Mrs. Smith guide students through food processing and tasting experiences. Principal Cavallo explained how the Farm-to-School program is just one facet of the Stewardship program and how meaningful the variety of hands-on projects are to students and staff. Ms. Campbell was impressed by what our school is doing.
