PICTURES AND REPORTS
WALKING WEDNESDAY RESULTS 143 students and 20 adults walked or biked to school on October 18th. We had very nice weather for the event. Renaissance had the largest turnout with 23 students. Way to go Renaissance!
Team Renaissance
It is really encouraging to see so many people joining in on Walking Wednesdays. Pictures from Wednesday 10-18-2017 NOTICE TO TEACHERS AND STUDENTS - BUS LOADING SITE UPDATE All students will now load up on buses parked on the bus loop outside of the cafeteria. We will no longer load buses near the big gym. Last week the bus loop was modified to hold 10 buses. See pictures below. The order of bus parking will depend on the arrival of buses here in the afternoon. Look for your unified arts bus loading supervisor to know which bus is yours to get on. ECONOMICS UNIT UPDATE Learning communities have begun to present their business plans to staff on the business committee. Teams are coming up with some terrific ideas and excitement is building for the school mall to be held on December 14th.
Business Committee
TRIUMPH Representatives from Triumph presented their plan to package and market the maple syrup their team processed from sap collected on school property. They provided tasty samples to the committee. After some packaging discussion and suggestions, Triumph's plan was approved. DISCOVERY Students from Discovery talked about their plan to market beautiful crocheted hats on school mall day. Their plan involves using yarn and pine cone decorations in the packaging. In addition they plan to donate hats to needy St. Albans residents at the Festival of Trees by hanging them on Christmas trees there. There business project is a way of linking their product to their Christmas tree farm stewardship project. Discovery's project was approved to move ahead. KINDERGARTEN FIRE TRUCK VISIT Kindergarteners got a treat on Wednesday when a large fire truck and a fireman visited the school. The pictures below are of Ms. Bachand's and Ms. Williams students. Kids received plastic fireperson helmets and had a chance to sit in the truck. It was an exciting time! |
