TUESDAY - Cantaloupe
Cucumbers have many types, shapes, textures and colors, including orange, yellow, green and white.

One half cup of sliced cucumbers has only 8 calories and contains 10% of the recommended daily dose of Vitamin K.

The most popular varieties of cucumber are English, Persian, and Pickling.

EXPECTED RECESS WEATHER



Going outside today is recommended. Temperatures will be low but there will be very little wind and plenty of sun. It should be nice if you have the appropriate clothing to be outside.  The sledding hill is closed until we get better snow conditions.

Students who need to take the late bus must register for it before 12:00 noon - there is no late bus on Fridays.

BAND


The amazing City School Jazz Band is rehearsing today at 2 pm.

Band lessons for beginning violins, group 1 are happening on Monday afternoon.

Band lessons are going to be for students who are playing in the solo concert on Tuesday night in the band room. Mr. M will be finding you when he needs you.

Lexie Cummings has a lesson this morning at 8:30.

Silas Runez has a drum lesson this morning at 9.

8TH GRADERS - YEARBOOK 
COVER CONTEST
We have a very short deadline to create a cover. If you have a good cover idea please submit your offer to Mr. Craib and the yearbook committee by Friday, January 6th.  mcraib@maplerun.org


Design Criteria:
  • Put your name on the back of the artwork (if drawn on paper)
  • Your artwork can be created on paper or be digital
  • The artwork must say...  Oh, the places we've been!    -on the front 
  • The artwork must say...  Oh, the places we’ll go!   - on the back 
  • No Anime 
  • You can submit artwork for the front, back, or both
  • Has to have color

STRINGS CONCERT - YOUNGER STUDENTS
On Wednesday night, January 24th, St. Albans City School's younger stringed instrument students performed a solid range of basic skills before a large audience of parents, and the older strings students who came after them.
