There are over 3000 varieties of pears worldwide.
The majority of pears sold in the United States are grown on the west coast, mainly Oregon and Washington.
The United States is one of the largest producers of pears in the world.
A medium pear has about 100 calories.
Although pears mature on the tree, they ripen best off the tree.
Every United States pear is picked by hand.
Pears are a part of the rose family.
Peartree wood is often times used to construct musical instruments, furniture, and other wooden décor.

PICTURES AND REPORTS
IN A WORLD SO BIG,
DON'T SPREAD HATRED,
Kindness is the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. Kindness is a behavior marked by ethical characteristics, a pleasant disposition, and a concern for others. Kindness isn’t just about how you treat other people, it’s about how you treat yourself too. Kindness is also showing empathy. Empathy is the ability to understand someone else’s situation, experience, feelings, and behaviors, and it’s the foundation of this concern. If you want to be generous towards or help someone, first you need to understand where they are and what they’re dealing with.
We are going to celebrate kindness throughout our school this month. You will find the calendar of kindness on our bulletin board as you enter the school by Mrs. Biggie’s office and again in the hall by Ms. Stacies’s office. Please join us in being kind to yourself and others.
