EVENTS OR NOTICES

Does art inspire you? Clouds that look like faces? Sugar? Discovering new galaxies? Artists have looked to the world around them for centuries to gain inspiration. This year’s 10th anniversary of Doodle 4 Google asks students to do the same. The winner’s artwork will be made into an interactive doodle on Google.com as well as loads of scholarships and prizes.

Use your imagination to create a Google Doodle based on what inspires you.

PICTURES AND REPORTS

AFTER-SCHOOL MATH CLUB
Students working with Ms. Mailhotte created a bakery, "Olivia's Sweets". This project gave students an opportunity to practice their math skills as "money" was exchanged for each food item. The students were excited by the learning opportunity and the chance to serve customers.  LINK TO 11 PICTURES

RENAISSANCE

VOYAGERS
Students in Voyagers 5th Grade were back at their assembly of the PinBox (pinball) machines on Monday 2-5-2018.  Mr. Matchstick who developed the machine design was there to guide and assist students. His kind of creative work is a great example for our students who learned that something as ordinary as cardboard can be used to make something complex and extraordinary. The students were quick to understand the detailed building instructions.   LINK TO 42 PICTURES

RENAISSANCE TEACHERS VS. STUDENTS BASKETBALL
The teachers in Renaissance were constantly harping on about their amazing basketball skills so the students had to call their bluff and hold a basketball contest. It proved to be a wipeout with students winning with well over 40 points and teachers ending up with 4.   LINK TO 34 PICTURES

DREAMERS
Mrs. Williams submitted some photos of her students working on woodland dioramas and participating in Physical Education.  LINK TO A DOZEN PICTURES
