PICTURES AND REPORTS
DISCOVERY
Here are pictures from the Cabot VT camping trip Discovery took on June 11th and 12th. The weather was ideal and kids had a great time being active outdoors. Thank you, Ms. Brown, for the pictures.
VOYAGERS This year, Voyagers have been focusing on kindness. After Christmas break, they began hanging snowflakes of kindness in the hall. Each snowflake had something kind to say about someone or something kind that they noticed someone had done. In April, they took them all down, sorted them and gave them to each child and teacher they were written for. Just like single snowflakes add up to feet of snow, so did Voyager kindness. They had almost 450 snowflakes! After the snowflakes came flowers, umbrellas, birdhouses, raindrops, and suns to create the Voyager Garden of Kindness. They went through the same process and ended up with 530 acts of kindness that were returned to the person they were written for! INVESTIGATORS The team visited St. Albans Town Park for a field trip on Friday, 6-15-2018. The weather cooperated making for a wonderful field trip at a great park. LINK TO 10 PICTURES . Thank you to Ms. Bushey for the pictures RETIRING TEACHERS On Friday 6-15-2018 a wonderful retirement party was held for Mr. Frank Mehaffey, Ms. Corliss Pratt, Ms. Kathy Ficken, Ms. Deb Bushey, and Ms. Ellen Rose. Let's all recognize and celebrate their years of service to the students of St. Albans.
RENAISSANCE
On Monday 6-18-2018, the remaining Renaissance students had some basic physics instruction before assembling containers for chicken eggs. These padded containers will be dropped from the roof into the lunch-time picnic area on Tuesday morning (6-19-2018) at 8:00 AM. To make the challenge of assembling these containers harder, the Renaissance teachers limited the availability of materials needed for padding the eggs. It will be interesting to see which team(s) have good luck with their designs considering the constraint.
ADVENTURERS END-OF-YEAR CELEBRATION
