GAGA BALL
On Thursday, August 2nd, summer school students tried out the school's newest playground equipment, a gaga pit. This is an octagonal enclosure wherein a version of dodgeball is played. The object is to hit a light-weight ball onto the lower legs of other participants. If hit, that person is out until the next round of the game. Each game lasts about 2-3 minutes and kids move around rapidly during that time. No-one gets bored. The game is a lot of fun for participants and spectators alike.
Gaga Ball originated in Israel, and there the word ga means hit.
The gaga pit was paid for with a grant from RiseVT. Their mission and ours is to get kids to be more active on a daily basis.
