FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 21st
JOKE OF THE WEEK

BREAKFAST
SNACKS

FRIDAY - Green Beans
Green beans grow in two ways: on bushes or on plants with long vines. The bush plants produce a lot of beans all at once. The vine plants (called pole beans) produce beans throughout the growing season.

There are at least 130 different kinds of beans. Most are green, but some are purple, yellow, or even spotted.

Green beans are healthy. They’re a good source of vitamin A, Vitamin C, and folate
MONDAY - Golden Delicious
This all-purpose apple's flesh resists browning making it perfect for fresh fruit or mixed green salads.

An American apple, the Golden Delicious had its beginning as a chance seedling on the West Virginia farm of Anderson H. Mullins in 1890 in Clay County and was originally named Mullins Yellow Seedling. Later in 1916, this apple was renamed the Golden Delicious when Paul Stark of Stark Brothers Nursery bit into it in 1914. Mullins sold the rights to the Golden Delicious apple to Stark Brothers Nursery and the rest is history.

    PICTURES AND REPORTS

    IMPORTANT CHROMEBOOK MESSAGE
Most of us use Chromebooks each day at our school and they are essential to completing our work. Last year quite a few Chromebooks showed up at the makerspace damaged or broken. To help explain how to treat Chromebooks in a way that will make them last a long time, team Imagination created a video explaining how Chromebooks should be carried and used. Thank you for watching.

    MOVIE AUDITION
Two Vermont movie producers came to St. Albans City School on Thursday 9-20-2018 looking for extras in a film they are making here in Vermont. A scene from the movie will be filmed here in one of our music rooms. A group of 1st-4th grade students were auditioned for an hour followed by a group of 5th-8th graders. About 15 students will be selected from the 45 present to participate in a music room scene. Ms. Hartman helped with the process. Here are a sample of the pictures taken today at the auditions.  LINK TO 20 PICTURES
