WALKING WEDNESDAY Wednesday, April 3rd. 6:45 to 7:30 AM. It is time to try and walk and bike more to school LINK TO ROUTE MAPS AND TIMES YOUTH PHILHARMONIA AT SACS APRIL 9TH at 10:00 to 10:45 AM in the Large Gym
With the collaboration of Andrew Palumbo (SATEC band director), St Albans City School will get to host the Vermont Youth Philharmonia. The orchestral ensemble is comprised of students from across the state who perform in schools around Vermont. The concert will consist of classical songs as well as contemporary favorites that students may recognize.
This is a unique opportunity for our students to see their peers from all over Vermont performing a competitive repertoire of music.

Open House: Down-To-Earth Community Garden

The Down To Earth Community Garden has 4’ by 12’ garden plots available for the 2019 growing season. Located on the St Albans City School grounds, each garden is kept weed-free by its designated person who also participates in regular group work dates to care for common garden spaces. Attend our Open House to learn more, meet some gardeners, and apply for a plot. Applications are accepted on these Open House dates and with $20 plot fee ($10 refundable at end of season to gardeners in good standing).

8th GRADE BABY PICTURES WANTED RIGHT AWAY
The yearbook committee needs your baby pictures. All 8th graders bring in your baby pictures by April 3rd at the latest. You can give your pictures to Bella Swan, Alexis Greeno or Lexi Smith in USA, and Daniel Hill, Aidan Lund or Sam Bapp in Renaissance. You can also give your pictures to Mitch Craib. EXPLORERS - FENTON Students danced and moved to the 1980s music, Eye of the Tiger, in Ms. Fenton's room. 3-29-2019 LINK TO 6 PICTURES SURVIVermont Parent community council members, representatives from our local police and emergency services, and members of the public attended a meeting on Thursday evening. The goal was to give people information about how to deal with an emergency at our school or elsewhere in the community. Run, hide and fight and first aid measures were covered. 3-28-2019. 1980s SPIRIT FRIDAY Amazingly many people knew how to dress up for the 1980s celebration day. LINK TO 41 PICTURES. This was the last day this school year to celebrate the clothing and music of decades in the past. Thanks to all the participants and those who enjoyed seeing their pictures. SPRING IS AROUND THE CORNER Although it may not seem like it, now is the time to start planning for the growing season. Mrs. Heather Smith, our farm to school coordinator, met with students from team USA to start seedling on one of the school's grow carts. 3-29-2019. Teachers and students feel free to reach out to Mrs. Smith with your ideas or interests in gardening this Spring, Summer and Fall. RABBIT VISIT TO INCREDIBLES AND VOYAGERS Ms. Williams was photographed bringing a rabbit around for children to pet. 3-29-2019. There was a lot of interest in the rabbit. SOUTH AFRICA PRESENTATION Mr. Craib, who was born in Zimbabwe, talked about growing up and having family in Southern Africa. Several students at St. Albans City School are planning to visit South Africa in April, and so they, and Team Triumph, took the opportunity to learn a little about the country from Mr. Craib. 3-29-2019. The talk and question period lasted 30 minutes.
