CODING IN TECH CLASS 12-3-2019
Students are preparing for Day of Code coming up on Friday this week. This picture came from Ms. Rankin's tech class.

DAY OF CODE -ALMOST HERE. Friday, December 6th
The annual Day of Code is quickly approaching and we will be celebrating with a day filled with fun coding workshops and activities on Friday, December 6th. Our website has been updated and is filled with fun activities to learn the basics of coding and even take it a little bit further!

This year every grade will participate in a coding/programming workshop led by fellow students or teachers. These workshops range from coding robots, choreographing dances using code, making stickers with code, and so many more!

We are so excited and we hope you are too! Check out our website for more information. Day of Code Website Check out this short video talking about coding Hour of Code Video

VEGETABLE OF THE MONTH - WINTER SQUASH

Delicata, Acorn, and Butternut... oh my! There are a plethora of winter squash varieties just waiting for you to try! Here's an extensive list, for those curious enough to try them all. What makes winter squash different from its summertime counterpart? The rind. Winter squash is harvested in the fall when the seeds have matured fully and the skin has hardened into a tough rind. This thick, protective layer allows the squash to keep throughout the winter, making it a staple in dishes during the colder months. The skin is inedible in all winter squash varieties EXCEPT delicata squash, which can be eaten rind and all. What is your favorite kind of winter squash?
