First graders Mikayla, Stephen and Luka display the models of the human spine that the Explorers built out of wooden beads, felt and yarn. Building the models was a great way for the students to understand how the human skeleton supports, protects and moves the body.
Estimators Cup
The Estimator's Cup is asking a hidden question this time. We know that with your Marvelous Math Minds each of you can answer the hidden questions. The hidden questions are:
When we walk a certain distance, do we use more, less or the same number of steps when we walk fast and when we walk slow?
If your class wants to get a Marvelous Math Minds Award, create a way to present your thinking to answer the hidden questions. Presentations of your class's math thinking need to be done before February 15th. Make an appointment with the Marvelous Math Minds Committee by contacting Ms. Cavallo.
