National School Breakfast Week

Did you ever wonder what people in other countries eat for breakfast? Here are a few examples of some typical breakfast foods eaten around the world.

Japan: a bowl of miso soup or rice.

France: A piece of baguette topped with butter and jam or a breakfast pastry.

China: Congee which is rice pudding and can be topped with things like ground meat or squid.

Korea: Rice and kimchi (spicy pickled cabbage).

Venezuela: soft corn flatbread stuffed with meat, cheese or beans.

Sweden: Smörgås: Which is an open faced sandwich topped with a thin spread of butter and a combination of toppings including ham, cheese, lettuce, cucumber, tomato and hard-boiled egg.
