EVENTS AND NOTICES
We want to enlist all students to help keep rocks next to the sidewalks and not in the fields. Pick up rocks you see and return them to the sides of the sidewalks. Thank you. In recent weeks, many dozens of rocks have been tossed into the grassy areas beside the sledding hill and the playground. These rocks become dangerous missiles when the lawnmower hits them, and the lawnmower hits rocks every time the grass needs to be mowed. Check out this 1-minute video to get an idea of how bad rocks can be for a lawnmower and people's safety. Our lawnmower is 10 times more powerful than the one shown in this video. LINK TO VIDEO

Due to SBAC testing, there will be no Codesmyths classes on Monday the 13th and Thursday the 16th. Office hours between Monday the 13th and Friday the 17th will also be canceled.
ART SHOW FOR
FRANKLIN COUNTY SCHOOLS
The Franklin County Art Show will be held at the Collins Perley Complex from Tuesday, May 14-Sunday, May 19. Come see student artwork from many schools in Franklin County including St. Albans City School! Artwork will be on display throughout the week and are available for viewing during Collins Perley Complex hours. Please bring your families and come to support the arts!
MOVE UP DAY
Parents and Families of 8th Graders
On Friday, May 24th, 2019, your eighth grader will be taking a bus to BFA for Move Up Day. This is an annual event to introduce eighth graders to the expectations associated with their upcoming ninth grade year. This is always an exciting day. BFA staff and students will be on hand to guide the eighth-grade students through the orientation program. Additionally, it is an opportunity to meet fellow eighth graders from the other sending schools.
Lunch will be provided by BFA. Your eighth-grader will be dismissed from BFA at 2:00 P.M. and will be walking home from there. If you choose to do so, you may pick your child up at BFA at that time. WALKING WEDNESDAY RESULTS Fourteen adults and 169 students turned out for this week's Walking Wednesday event. Team Triumph had more than half their student population walk or bike in (35 students total). Excellent human-powered locomotion this week by Triumph. Triumph is definitely in the lead for the pool party. It is still possible for other teams to catch up in the remaining weeks. However, it will take a serious commitment by most people on a team to make that happen.   Note that the grownups are not participating in the pool party contest even though they are listed below. Tuesday, 5-14-2019     INCREDIBLES LIP SYNC BATTLES Each year Mr. Clark assembles an array of 6th-grade students (and sometimes teachers) to create a lip sync music video. Groups battle each other to do the best job of lip-syncing to a song of their choice. Mr. Clark has provided links to the 2017 and 2018 videos.
